Before beginning any project pertaining to your dam's outlet works, it is very important to understand the current condition of the conduit. Many conduits may initially look decent, but further investigation shows that the pipe is in need of repair. Missing coatings, corrosion at joints, poor gate condition, and missing corrosion protection are "red flags", and indicate the need for careful intervention.
