Message: Dual gates allow work to be done on the operating gate without draining the reservoir.

The southwestern Montana ski resort dam uses a dual gate system. One gate is used for operation (downstream), while the other gate is used for emergencies (upstream). Emergency gates are important safeguards, allowing work to be done on the operating gate without draining the reservoir.
