  1. Topic Page content should reflect the current State-of-the-Practice for the given topic.

  2. Where possible, Topic Page content should be tied to reputable Best Practices Resources. While not all Topic Page content is required to be quoted directly from Best Practices Resources, Topic Page content should support the information contained within relevant Best Practices Resources listed on the page and direct readers to these State-of-the-Practices references to learn more about the subject of the Topic Page.

  3. Quotes should be cited correctly where used. Quotes can range in purpose from introducing the subject of the Topic Page, defining key terms, listing key equations or concepts, providing specific instructions, outlining workflows, etc.

  4. As additional content is added to Topic Pages, and to prevent the page from becoming too lengthy, a child-level Topic Page for a specific topic heading within the parent Topic Page should be created when the amount of content for the parent Topic Page section warrants it. In general, Topic Pages should be kept to between 100-500 words in length, and this guideline should be remembered when considering the movement of a parent-level section to a new child-level Topic Page.

  5. Any proposals for adding to or editing the Website Content Policies and Guidelines should be submitted to Jeremy Franz, PE at [email protected] or ASDSO at [email protected] for consideration before being implemented.

  6. ASDSO reserves the right to modify the Website Content Policies and Guidelines as needed.
