Message: Divers may be required to complete construction.
At times, rehabilitating existing structures can present very difficult access and construction environments. Performing construction on underwater structures within a reservoir or outlet may be required.
The Willow Creek dam is an earthen dam constructed in 1966 that impounds a tributary of the Colorado River. A project was completed to rehabilitate the existing outlet works that included the following tasks:
- Install 20' pipe segment with blind flange.
- Reline existing outlet works with steel pipe and replace 2 existing valves in the dry.
- Add new hydraulically operated gate valve.
- Install trash rack and run hydraulic lines.
