Message: It may not be possible to rehabilitate severely deteriorated pipes.

In this Alaska dam, the principal outlet conduit was in need of rehabilitation. The pipe was a good candidate for sliplining and the condition of the pipe allowed for a successful rehabilitation.

However, the dam also had an auxiliary overflow conduit that was in need of rehabilitation. As shown in the images below, the pipe was in poor condition and sliplining was not an option. Ultimately, the auxiliary overflow conduit could not be rehabilitated and the pipe was abandoned in place using a cellular grout.
