"A drill is a coordinated, supervised activity usually employed to test a single specific operation or function within a single entity, such as testing sirens and warning systems, calling suppliers, checking material on hand, and conducting a call-down drill of those listed on the Notification Flowchart." [1] It is a form of operations-based exercises which validate plans, policies, agreements and procedures; clarify roles and responsibilities; and identify resource gaps in an operational environment.
